I thrifted this dress 2 years ago and never had the right occasion to wear it and I actually forgot about it. Until I saw some Spring 2103 Trends online, one day and saw a black dress with mesh inserts and I remembered I bought this one day on a whim.

I styled this dress with classic evening shoes & purse, trend-of-the-moment hair jewelry, and a huge cocktail ring.

I enjoyed being all dolled up for the Lift Detroit Gala!

2013 Lift Detroit Black Tie Gala

The Lift Detroit Black Tie Gala took  place Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the new & improved Detroit Historical Museum.

Attendees wandered around the museum mixing, mingling, and networking.  Dj's played in different areas, a band, and live music performances too.

Aren't  host Rachel Simone & Melissa Prince Gorgeous in there black gowns!

I love how some ladies wore beautiful colored dresses!

Performance/Speed Painter Extraordinaire Dave Santia put on a great show with his paintings of Kid Rock, Marilyn Monroe, & Stevie Wonder.

There were vendor tables set up in another section of the museum.

In another part of the museum a silent action was taking place.

I got a chance to catch up with members of my favorite groups: IamYab & FashDet

I love Lauren's outfit!

We decided to use one of the Lift Detroit sponsors: Uber Car for the night.  The service was excellent we used the app 4 times that night and never waited more than 20 mins.  I even left my phone in the car and they got it back to me in a couple of hours.
